Choosing a phone mount
A good mount keeps your map in view. Here is what to check on mount position and fit, plus the fit details Pedalova lists for each product.
Where the mount sits
Mounts sit in three common positions.
- Handlebar mount: attaches to the stem or handlebars. Some collars raise the phone about 1 inch above the stem, so check you have room to rotate it.
- Stem cap mount: fastens to the stem cap, with fixed or adjustable angles.
- Out front mount: sits ahead of the handlebars.
Check your fit
Fit is the key step. Pedalova lists the fit range on every phone mount.
- Handlebar: confirm the diameter range. For example, the Hand Tighten Handlebar Phone Mount fits round bars 1.5 to 4 cm across.
- Phone: confirm width and thickness including the case. The same mount holds phones 11.4 to 17.8 cm wide, up to 20 mm thick with the case.
- Foldable phones are not mentioned for that mount, so check before you buy.
Cases and adapters
- Dedicated cases are available for specific phone models and can offer edge to edge impact protection.
- Universal adapters attach to the back of phones without a compatible case.
Rougher rides
For rougher terrain, choose a mechanical twist and lock connection over a magnetic one where your mount offers both, and follow your mount's instructions.
